Object of the decision

Assistance to a defendant before the Paris High Court and then the Paris Court of Appeal.

The latter was warned of having:

  • Obtained or attempted to obtain by violence, threat of violence or coercion the delivery of funds, securities or any property and this in a state of legal repetition;
  • Carried a category D bladed or incapacitating weapon, in this case a knife, outside his home and without legitimate reason;
  • Deceived banking institutions into handing over cash by using fraudulent tactics.

The Paris High Court acquitted the defendant of the prosecution.

The Public Prosecutor, however, appealed the judgment.

By a judgment handed down on June 28, 2018, the Court of Appeal confirmed in all its provisions the judgment of the Paris High Court.

This decision is final.
